In beauty and skincare, K-beauty or South Korean beauty techniques have taken the world by storm. Korean beauty products have long been widely available and accessible in the Philippines.

In recent years, the multi-step skincare routine that involves serums and face masks rose to fame. Thanks to the glass-like, dewy skin evident among K-drama stars and K-Pop artists, there’s not much convincing needed to patronize the trend.

As the country embraces this fascination with all things Korean, Dr. Young Cho, a respected Korean beauty doctor, launched the Korean beauty and wellness clinic Hernel at the heart of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Dr. Young Cho decides to introduce the Korean aesthetic program in the country

Steeped in the principles of Korean beauty and technology, this clinic offers an array of transformative treatments and enhancements. Dr. Cho, Hernel’s head doctor, and co-owner, has been in the country for more than a year and is now holding consultations and performing procedures for the Philippine market. He has also trained four other doctors to cater to more patients.

“The Korean wave is booming in the Philippines and I decided to introduce the Korean aesthetic program here,” Dr. Cho said.

Local clients no longer need to fly to Korea with what the clinic offers.

“The intention of Hernel is very clear – making Korean beauty treatments readily available in Manila. Aside from heavily patronizing Korean food, entertainment, and music, Filipinos are also very meticulous about skin care. Having Hernel here is a good opportunity to address the local market’s desire to experience how things are done in Korea,” Tristan Cheng, Hernel’s Marketing Head explained.

Making no promise, Dr. Cho is hoping to bring in some South Korean stars who happen to be his friends like actor Hyun Bin and his wife actress Son Ye Jin, actress Kim Hee Sun, girl group Rainbow, and more. Dr. Cho has two clinics of his own in Korea and has a partnership with another one located in Gangnam, known as one of the richest districts in South Korea.

“My priority is to bring in procedures which are very popular in Korea and have not been introduced in the Philippines like collagen therapies and some unique threading techniques,” Dr. Cho went on.

A thread lift, often used to lift the skin and enhance the nose, employs dissolvable sutures equipped with tiny barbs to achieve a more youthful aesthetic for the facial and neck areas. This low-impact technique operates by triggering a surge in collagen synthesis within the skin, leading to the development of healthier, more resilient skin with increased firmness.

As you step into Hernel’s confines, you will be welcomed by a luxurious experience. The clinic’s beautiful aesthetics match the premium services it promises. With each visit, you become a canvas, a masterpiece, under the skillful hands of experts who understand that beauty is both an art and a science.
