A new system was implemented by the City Treasury Department (CTD) of Caloocan City on August 2, wherein electronic official receipts (e-OR) will be issued for business and real property taxes paid online.
While online payments on the city government’s official website have been available, the official receipts for said payments were initially issued manually and delivered at a later date by the City Treasury.
Under the new system, the e-OR will automatically be received by the taxpayer after online payment.
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan encouraged everyone to use the city’s online payment platform and assured his constituents that their taxes, whether paid physically or online, are being allocated to projects for the benefit of Caloocan residents.
Ms. Analiza Mendiola, the City Treasurer, emphasized that the issuance of e-OR is in line with Mayor Along’s goal of making the local government’s processes faster and more efficient to better serve the needs of the public.
More payment services will be covered by the issuance of e-OR soon, including payments of fines for violations of the Single-Ticketing System. Online payment nooks are also set to be placed in strategic locations inside the city hall.
