DO you recall that irresistible, crispy chicken you yearned for while watching the popular drama Crash Landing On You? Well, now you don’t have to fly all the way to Seoul just to have a bite of this juicy and crispy chicken.

The well-known South Korean food chain, bb.q Chicken, has opened its second branch in Robinsons Magnolia, Quezon City, where many have already savored the unique flavors developed by Genesis BBQ’s Chicken University.

Singson aims to make the Philippines the main hub for bb.q Chicken in Southeast Asia

The term “bb.q” represents “Best of the Best Quality,” a blend of long-standing Korean culinary tradition and modern research from their Chicken University, established in Seoul in 1995. The chicken is cooked using traditional techniques — hand-brushed, hand-battered, and fried at lower temperatures for a longer duration, resulting in an incredibly crispy texture. Additionally, bb.q offers its signature sauces to elevate the enjoyment of fried chicken like never before.

Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis ‘Chavit’ Singson and Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Sotto lead the opening of South Korean food chain, bb.q Chicken

Former Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson, his LCS group, and Genesis BBQ Group joined forces to introduce this crispy chicken delight to Manila, with plans to make the Philippines the main hub for bb.q Chicken in Southeast Asia.

“If you want to work at bb.q, you must undergo training at the Chicken University in Seoul. However, we’re changing that now by bringing the training here. Our staff, chefs, and franchisees won’t have to fly to Korea anymore for training. Our vision is to make Manila the central hub for the region. This is just the beginning of other thrilling developments for the brand,” Singson shared with the media during the grand opening of the restaurant’s second branch in Manila on July 16.
