The Office of the House Speaker and the Tingog party-list group, in close coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Lapu-Lapu City Rep. Cynthia King Chan have conducted an offsite payout for constituents in the city’s lone district.

The event, held at the Lapu-Lapu City Auditorium, aims to assist indigent, needy, and vulnerable families amid socio-economic strife.

Rep. Chan thanked the House of Representatives led by Speaker Martin G. Romualdez, his wife, Rep. Yedda Marie, Acidre, saying her constituents are lucky to be selected to receive assistance from the “generous” representatives of Tingog.

She said the assistance was of great help to uplift their lives. “We have the responsibility to do something to make their lives brighter and better as your voices in Congress,” Rep. Chan said.

For his part, Mayor Ahong Chan also expressed gratitude to the Office of the House Speaker and Tingog Partylist for their love for their constituents in Lapu-Lapu City. He said, “Tingog party group is always with us with or without an election.”

A total of 1,000 beneficiaries received P5,000 each to support their daily needs. Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Hon. Jude A. Acidre of Tingog; Lapu- City Mayor Junard Chan; Terence Calatrava, the Undersecretary of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas; and city councilors Mama Abeth Cuizon, Jun Alforque Jr., Tino Aying, Linda Susan Baring, Janvi Dela Serna, Efren Herrera, Nelson Yap, Montor Tatoy Jr., Jeorgen Eyas-Book, Joseph Pangantungan, and Emilio Galaroza Jr. graced the event.

In a related development, the Office of the House Speaker and Tingog inaugurated another Alagang Tingog Center (ATC) located at the Springwood District, Mandaue City, Cebu as part of the Partylist’s flagship program, Alagang Tingog.

This milestone was made in partnership with Hon. Emmarie Ouano-Dizon, the representative of the lone district of the city to extend and bring various government programs and services directly to the people.

The vision behind Alagang Tingog is to create accessible and inclusive platforms where the less privileged can avail themselves of essential services without facing unnecessary hurdles or bureaucratic complexities. By decentralizing these services and ensuring local management through ATCs, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between the government and marginalized communities, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

Aside from the inauguration of the ATC-Mandaue City, the Office of House Speaker and Tingog, in close coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), also conducted an offsite payout for the constituents of the city at the Brgy. Opao Gym in which 1,100 families were able to receive Php. 5000 each as assistance for their daily needs.
