Local farmers were granted financial assistance through the initiative of Senator Imee Marcos.
Five hundred farmers each received Rice Farmer Financial Assistance (RFFA) from Department of Agriculture (DA), amounting to P5,000.
DA Asec. Kristine Evangelista represented Marcos on Sunday cash payout in Orani who was not able to come due to inclement weather.
“Yearly magbibigay tayo ng RFFA para sa inyong mga magsasaka”, she said.
The DA official announced that Orani will also get P5 million enhanced Kadiwa grant.
Orani LGU was also granted the amount of P2.4 million for seed and fertilizer.
Mayor Bonjong Pascual, in his message, thanked Senator Marcos for the assistance.
“Maraming salamat kay Senator Imee Marcos sa kanyang tulong sa ating mga kababayan sa bayan ng Orani”, he said.
He cited the critical role of farmers in the society for food sustainability.
He urged farmers to take care of the soil for a bountiful harvest.
Evangelista also announced the provincial government of Bataan will get P59 million for seed and fertilizer.
Orani Vice Mayor Em Roman also attended the event.
