Chemist Pinky Tobiano recently added another feather to her cap when she was inducted as president of the Association of Bai Recognized Laboratories (ABAIL)

ABAIL is the only organization formed by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), that is composed of all the associations recognized and accredited by BAI.

The industry’s objective is to harmonize test methods of analysis for veterinary drugs, animal feeds, and feed ingredients to help the poultry and livestock industry in the Philippines.

ABAIL also helps in food security and food sustainability through accurate and precise laboratory testings. ABAIL is also fostering friendships with the government and private stakeholders.

ABAIL is the back-end support of all veterinary drug companies, feed millers, and veterinary drug and feed additive importers.

“We provide quality control tests to conform with national standards,” said Tobiano. “We make sure our test methods are strictly observed and followed.”

In February, Tobiano turned over her testing services company, Qualibet, which stands for “Quality is Better,” to global leader Bureau Veritas.
