THE plumes from Taal Volcano in Batangas increased from 1,800 meters on Sunday to 2,400 meters on Monday.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the plumes drifted to the west-northwest and northwest directions.

There was a total of six volcanic earthquakes, including one volcanic tremor, recorded in the volcano in the past 24 hours with the
quakes lasting up to four minutes.

Taal Volcano emitted 9,623 tons of sulfur dioxide and reported an upwelling of hot volcanic fluids in the main crater lake.

A short-term inflation of the western Taal Volcano Island and a long-term deflation of the Taal Caldera were also observed in Taal
Volcano.
