All Filipino side NAOS Esports will battle SCARZ of Japan for a spot in the finals of the 2023 VCT Ascension Pacific at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
The other semifinal pairing pits Bleed eSports of Malaysia and Singapore against Boom Esports of Indonesia.
SCARZ advanced to the semifinals after beating Fancy United Esports of Vietnam, 2-0, in their best-of-three quarterfinal match. The Japanese side won the first round 13-9 but their Vietnamese opponents took them to the limit before yielding, 17-15 in the next set to end their campaign in the tournament that offers a total cash prize of $100,000.
Boom Esports, on the other hand, ended the run of Bonkers of Oceania, 2-0 in the other quarterfinal matchup last night.
Boom won the first and second rounds, 13-6 and 13-11 to sweep Bonkers to earn the right to face Bleed Esports in the final four.
Both semifinals will be a best of three matches.
