The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Thursday announced its partnership with the South Korean government aimed at encouraging coordination and enhancing connectivity between the two countries.

CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said South Korean embassy officials visited the agency’s main office in Pasay City last Wednesday.

“The enhanced cooperation between the CAAP and its South Korean counterpart is expected to pave the way for increased flights and routes to major tourism destinations,” said CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio.

On June 24, Korean’s Air Busan launched its commercial service flight to and from the Province of Bohol.

The plane departed Incheon Airport (ICN) at around 10:01 p.m. and arrived at BPIA at 1:12 a.m., marking the beginning of daily Incheon-Bohol-Incheon flight operations.

At the inaugural flight ceremony, BPIA acting airport manager Anghelo Ibañez expressed his commitment to continually enhance the safety, accessibility, and convenience of passengers in BPIA. He said the new flight route will indeed create additional opportunities for tourism and business growth in Tagbilaran and the rest of mainland Bohol.

BPIA is constantly striving to further improve services at the airport to ensure safe and easy travels for passengers’ greater accessibility and convenience.

Apolonio said CAAP, as the country’s primary aviation authority, remains committed to promote international partnerships that benefit the Philippine civil aviation industry.
