What does it mean to become a father? Do you become a father when you spawn a smaller version of yourself, or when you become a provider and emotional supporter? How do we define fatherhood?

Inheritance: Tracing Lineage & Inspiration celebrates the multi-faceted roles fathers play in shaping one’s identity and delves into the depths of fatherhood and its profound influence on a person’s life.

On view until July 8, at the Imahica Art Gallery, the group exhibit honors the influential figures that have shaped our lives and celebrates the universal bond of fatherhood as shown in the pieces created by father and daughter artists Nikulas Lebajo and Beatrice Lebajo. Their artworks serve as powerful reminders of the impact fathers have on our lives, acting as sources of inspiration, guidance, and unwavering support.

Nikulas’ artistic style can best be described as minimalist-realist, a manifestation of his relentless pursuit of serenity and harmony. His creations are characterized by their ability to evoke profound beauty and tranquility, engendering a Zen-like effect on all who behold them.

With a keen eye for detail and an extraordinary command of technique, he predominantly explores the ethereal allure of glassware, bottles, jars, the human figure, and portraiture. He often intertwines these themes with a deep-rooted reverence for nature and a commitment to preserving our fragile environment.
