With the rise of streaming platforms, people have since found an avenue to express themselves with the power of music and share with others to create a community where everyone can relate to the complexity of emotions or the simple things in life.

Now in her mid-20s, izzybelle, turned to Spotify to release her music, but not to jumpstart a career in the industry.

“I don’t see myself as someone who is pursuing a music career at all. It’s more of pursuing the dreams of the little girl in me who wasn’t able to do it as a kid and can only afford to do it now. So if there’s any inspiration, it’s my inner child,” she said.

She draws inspiration from her and others’ experiences. Sometimes it’s about what gives her existential crisis or mundane things. But as for developing her creativity, izzybelle studies other songs and songwriters, consuming as much art and music as possible.

“You can’t make outputs without inputs,” she said.

The singer-songwriter has two songs on Spotify, “Heirloom” and “Blinking Stars.”

“‘Heirloom’ is about passing on the gift of believing in someone else. I’ve always had difficulty believing in my own abilities and strength growing up. If not for the people I love who surround me, I wouldn’t be here, or I wouldn’t be strong and secure now. This song was made for a friend who was going through the same thing I was years ago, and I just wish that she’ll find her strength like I did, and once she does, she’s able to pass on that strength to others, too,” she said.

Meanwhile, her recent single, “Blinking Stars,” is about someone who tried to manipulate her into getting back together.

“The song is about that and how I didn’t know how to handle the situation. What I did after that is not mentioned in the song, but shoutout to those who have gone through the same thing. It’s not easy to be caught in that kind of situation,” she shared.
