Food, medical and dental missions among PCSO’s aid to Marikina City

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) conducted a successful aid and services event for Marikina City residents at the Marikina City Convention Center on May 22, 2023. PCSO Director Jennifer Liongson-Guevara, Marikina Rep. Marjorie Ann Teodoro and City Councilor Rommel Acuna led the distribution of 1,000 food packs to senior citizens from different barangays. The PCSO turned over a check worth P3,336,486.34, representing the lotto shares of the City for the second semester of 2023, which Councilor Acuna accepted.

The PCSO Medical Services Department (MSD) team also conducted a dental and medical mission, providing free dental check-ups, tooth extractions, medical consultations with electrocardiograms and medicines, and vitamins to 24 individuals and 118 seniors, respectively.

Additionally, the Product Standard and Development Department gave away free Mega Lotto 6/45 tickets worth P12,000, and the first 300 senior citizens who arrived early received lucky pick lotto tickets worth P40 each.

To cap off the event, PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles granted educational assistance to two college students from Marikina City, each receiving P20,000 in funding support for this school year. Congresswoman Teodoro expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you very much, PCSO, for your presence and the programs and services you provided to our city today.

“Rest assured na kami ay 100% na nakasupport sa inyong mga proyekto,” she said. In response, Guevara assured the public that PCSO would continue to fulfill its mandate to aid communities, most especially the marginalized sectors of society.
