Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Fred Pascual expressed appreciation for the President’s strong support to the implementation of the Philippine Export Development Plan (PEDP) 2023-2028 with the issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 23 dated June 20, directing government agencies to identify and implement programs, activities and projects in support of the plan.

The government launched an export development plan that recognizes the challenges of exporters and outlines pragmatic approach to address these challenges and propel the country’s export sector.

“We are one with our exporters in raising the alarm bells on the need to have a whole-of-nation approach to dramatically change the growth trajectory of Philippine exports and develop the Philippines as an agile export powerhouse. As we move forward, it’s essential to use the momentum to reach the goals and ensure that the Plan is carried out well,” Pascual said.

The DTI, together with the Philippine export community, welcomed the high level of support extended by both public and private partners in the implementation of the PEDP.

The Export Development Council issued a statement of commitment to implement the PEDP.
