The City Government of Caloocan conducted a virtual orientation on proper waste disposal to more than 400 parent leaders of Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps) as part of the Family Development Sessions (FDS).

The meeting was facilitated by the Caloocan City Social Welfare Development Department (CSWDD) and the City Environmental Management Department (CEMD).

According to Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, through FDS, the city is able to improve the capacity of its 4Ps members in terms of providing the needs of their families. It also serves as a medium to encourage their participation on social issues and the city’s developmental plans.

The local chief executive further stated that the local government will continuously conduct clean-up drives, but with the public’s cooperation, it will be more swift and easier to maintain the city’s cleanliness.

Meanwhile, the City Environmental Management Department Head Mr. Paul Ryan Castillo hoped that their participants acquired new learnings and would be able to apply them at their homes and communities. Additionally, Mr. Castillo stated that this plays a big part in their preparation for the coming rainy season, because not only flooding will be minimized but also the spread of diseases caused by pollution.

Mr. Castillo stated.

Moreover, Caloocan City Social Welfare Development Department Action Officer Mr. Roberto Quizon reminded everyone that the environment being protected today will be passed onto the next generation. He also encouraged everyone to work with the government in pursuing its environmental goals.

Mr. Quizon said.
