President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday reiterated his continuous commitment to promoting Philippine culture as well as the preservation and protection of the country’s cultural heritage.

The President made this remark in a speech at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Ani ng Dangal (Harvest of Honors) awarding ceremony in Malacañang.

“You can hope that this government and administration will be with you in promoting and enriching our art and culture,” he said. “I am confident that if we develop this industry, we will be able to contribute more to the growth of our economy and lift Filipinos everywhere in the world.”

Mr. Marcos also called on NCCA to support Filipino artists who make significant contributions to the development, and promotion of Philippine culture and the arts.

“I also call on the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to use all we have to support

and cultivate our artists and creators who have great potential,” President Marcos said

The President also urged Filipino artists to show the country’s culture and identity and feature the Philippines’ rich artistry and cultural heritage.

“So to our artists who will receive the award today, I pray that this will push you even more to continue what you have started to preserve the culture,” Mr. Marcos said.

“As you continue to create and promote our original creations, you are advancing our art industry and making our breed known around the world,” the President added.

Ani ng Dangal honors natural-born Filipino artists or groups who have received international awards and accolades in nine categories—Architecture, Cinema, Dance, Dramatic Arts, Literary Arts, Music, Visual Arts, Folk Arts and Broadcast Arts—over the past year.
