Tuguegarao City—In support of the government’s clean air initiatives, the SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown mall launched the electronic vehicle
or e-vehicle charging station project in its parking area.
First in Tuguegarao City and in Cagayan Valley region, it aims to promote the use of e-vehicles as an alternative to reduce carbon emissions. This is said to be part of SM’s support to the government’s environmental protection program.
Tug City Mayor Maila Ting-Que expressed support for the initiative. Thirty-eight out of 82 SM Malls nationwide also launched the same project.
Assistant Mall Manager Rommel Uy also announced the readiness of their company to put more charging stations in the mall when there are more e-vehicles in the city.
Engineer Jefferson Mabborang of the Department of Science and Technology-Cagayan Provincial Office and Engr. Florentino Lingan of Environmental Management Bureau-Region 2 also spoke support to the project
