The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced on Tuesday that it will implement shorter operating hours on LRT2 on December 24 (Christmas Eve) and December 31 (New Year’s Eve).
The LRT said the schedules are as follows: December 24—Last trip to Recto – 8 p.m., Last trip to Antipolo – 8:30 p.m; December 31—Last trip to Recto – 7 p.m., Last trip to Antipolo – 7:30 p.m.
All stations will open at 5 a.m.
“Since there will likely be fewer passengers on these days, the operating hours will be shortened. It also aims to give the LRT2 frontline personnel an opportunity to celebrate with their families this holiday season,” the LRTA said.
Meanwhile, regular operating hours (5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) will be followed on December 25 (Christmas Day), December 30 (Rizal Day), and January 1, 2023 (New Year’s Day).
The “No Inspection, No Entry” policy will still be enforced by the LRTA with regard to all passengers’ belongings, including those packaged as gifts.
