TUGUEGARAO CITY — A 35-foot-tall Victorian glass house Christmas centerpiece was opened on Saturday night at the SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown (SMTD) despite rains here.

The Giant Victorian glasshouse has been embellished with snow frosting and surrounded by Christmas Trees adorned with bright lights, along with gift boxes and snow-covered flamingos.

Aside from the launching of its centerpiece, the mall also held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with its “100 days of happiness campaign” with partners, Cagayano Artists Group, local government units, and the League of Indispensable Neo Youth Artists.

“Apart from the idea that we are bringing closer to the Cagayanos a winter wonderland vibe to make them feel that there’s a snow place like home here, we also want to make a circle of happiness among Cagayanos. This is why, we opened an art for a cause group exhibit here in our mall,” SMTD Assistant Mall Manager Romel Uy said.

“For this year, we will be adopting some kids with disabilities and selected farmers here in Tuguegarao as our direct beneficiaries. The different visual artists from Cagayan voluntarily participated and contributed their amazing original artworks to this campaign,” he said.

“Twenty percent of the proceeds will directly go to the chosen beneficiary, so we are inviting all to visit our exhibit which will run until December 30 of this year,” Uy added.

Mayor Maila Que lauded the initiative as helpful for the children in need and physically challenged in the city.
