Fresh and young faces to watch on TV, commercials, TV Ads, magazines, pageants, and Fashion Runway are highlighted at the Manila International Fashion Week 2022, which runs until October 28 at Okada Manila.

Manila International Fashion Week 2022, with this year’s theme, “Fashion for All,” is produced jointly by George Salon, headed by Larry Asistin; Ganap International Magazine, headed by John Guarnes and Bench Bello; and White Canvas Events, headed by Yen David. Promising to be a spectacle of talent and creativity, the fashion event is created with an in-depth understanding of the fashion industry that is in dire need of a reboot, now that the end to the pandemic is finally in sight.

Manila International Fashion Week 2022, held for the benefit of FAME Foundation and to support the fashion industry affected by the pandemic, also features the 1st Manila Fashion Film Competition, and Catwalk Philippines modeling competition. A bridal fashion show and exhibit happened from October 14 to 16. DCP grand showcase at Venice Grand Canal will be on October 22, and the Grand Event at the Cove Okada is slated for October 28.

Newly crowned Miss Philippines Face of Tourism 2022 wants to be an actress

Rikki Dela Peña, Miss Philippine Youth International 2019, was named Miss Philippines Face of Tourism 2022, during the Grand Coronation Night of Mr. and Ms. Philippine Youth 2022, held recently at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RBCB Plaza Makati City.

Rikki was crowned by former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Frankie Russell, along with Christian Luis Singson, who was named Philippine Youth Ambassador 2022.

Rikki, 24, a graduate of Business Management at the University of Asia and the Pacific, wants to become an actress taking inspiration from her relative Tommy Abuel. A successful businesswoman, Rikki advocates for educational programs and mental health awareness being the first ambassador of the Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation which helps poor out-of-school youth.

As the global community recovers from the pandemic, the search continues for the new Mr. and Ms. Chinatown (MMCP). MMCP celebrates a new generation of Chinoys rising from all over the globe.

The next titleholders will strive to be the embodiment of the “Modern Chinoy” who embraces the values and traditions passed down by the previous generations while being open-minded and adaptable to the changing modern times.

Chinoy TV and Mr. & Ms. Chinatown Foundation headed by its President Alvin Kingson Tan will produce the pageant’s docuseries Chinese by Blood, Filipino by Heart to be aired on CNN Philippines. The documentaries will be directed by Michael Carandang, the Emmy award-winning Fil-Am who produced the hit shows Tyra Banks Show and America’s Next Top Model.

Mr. Chinatown-Philippines 2022 contestants are Vince Anthony T. Aseron, Adrian Villalon Cotoco, Zedric Raphael Gan, Khurt Hehgel Tan Go, Kevin Fredric L. Lao, Alvin Jon T. Lim, Miguel Matthew Aldric B. Lim, Darwyn Albert Tanya Mendoza, Adrian See, and Dane Weinbergh Sy.

Meanwhile, Ms. Chinatown-Philippines 2022 contestants are Berjayneth Goc-ong Chee, Karina Michaela Go Ching, Chenelle Fung Co, Jersey Mae Kwan, Nicole Trisha Sotamco Lao, Lovely Claire Caccam Lim, Christine Nicole Ong, Mercedes Pair, Trumaine K. Tia, and Man Fung Lorraine Y. Wong.
