GMA Network Inc. said it is spending an additional P1 billion to further expand its digital television coverage to reach entire households in the country.

The network so far spent almost P860 million for the upgrade of DTT stations.

It said that as the country continues the shift from analog to digital transmission, it similarly enables more viewers to access a clearer and more vibrant TV viewing experience through digital receivers GMA Affordabox and GMA Now.

The network is also expanding its reach and signal strength by building new operating stations and upgrades. GMA has 93 TV stations strategically placed in various areas nationwide.

Data from Nielsen Phils. TV Audience Measurement from January to August showed that GMA, combined with its other channels GTV, I Heart Movies, Heart of Asia, Hallypop and DepEd TV reached 97.1 percent or 18.4 million of all TV households nationwide.
