Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada, a former whistleblower in the controversial broadband network deal with Chinese company ZTE Corp., surrendered to authorities Thursday after the Supreme Court upheld his conviction in a graft case.

Lozada turned himself in to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) with his brother, who is also implicated in the case.

The graft case stemmed from Lozada’s decision, as then president and chief executive officer of the state-owned Philippine Forest Corporation (PhilForest) in 2007, to award to his brother a leasehold right of some 6,599 hectares of public land.

Lozada earlier said lamented the SC ruling had something to do with his exposè on the ZTE deal.

“My enemies made good with their threats that they will make me regret for telling the truth,” he said in a previous interview.
