Sustaining the momentum they gained in Game 1 will be the next mission of the Meralco Bolts.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial (third from left) and Andy Tsui (second from right), president of Leisure & Resorts World Corporation (LRWC), officially sealed the partnership between the PBA and BingoPlus with a handshake that follows the contract signing ceremony at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday. (ABLE).

But the Bolts will have to work harder if they want to repeat their opening-game result in the PBA Governors’ Cup best-of-seven titular showdown against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The match is set at 6 p.m., with the Bolts going for win no. 2 against the Gin Kings, something that they have not done in their part finals’ showdowns.

The Gin Kings are expected to come back stronger in their bid to equalize.

The Bolts have the momentum following their 104-91 victory in Game 1.

But the confidence of the Gin Kings will be high, considering that two of their players, Scottie Thompson and Justin Brownlee are candidates for the Best Player of the Conference and Best Import, respectively.

Thompson is shining with an average of 13.5 points per game, while Brownlee norms 30.3.

The Bolts won due to the balanced effort from Tony Bishop and local players, led by Allein Maliksi and Chris Newsome.
