Jeric explained that his new single tackles unconditional love and “how time will make way for you to find it and finally have it.”

“My first love was music. Pumasok ako sa showbiz and ‘yon talaga ‘yong talent ko. Sumunod nalang ‘yong acting and then naging endorser ako. Malaking part talaga sa akin ‘yong music and then, now, ‘yong acting, nacha-challenge talaga ako,” Jeric said during an online mediacon.

He added that he still has a lot he wants to learn and do more in his career. Jeric expressed that he’s mature enough to take on more daring roles where he shows more skin, an opportunity he took upon shooting the music video for his new single.

According to Jeric, they shot the music video for “Hihintayin Kita” on the captivating island of Boracay, under the helm of Ignacio. He bared his skin for scenes where he walked along the beach and swam in the sea.

“Hihintayin Kita” is now available on digital platforms worldwide and will launch on GMA’s All-Out Sundays on March 20.

Besides making music, Jeric is also a Kapuso leading man who starred in various television series and movies like Magkaagaw, Kambal, Karibal, and Dementia.  And since Jeric is on the path to trying new experiences and exploring new avenues to broaden his career, he’s also set to star in an upcoming Filipino film.

“Hihintayin Kita” is the theme song for Broken Blooms, starring Jeric, Therese Malvar, and Royce Cabrera, the only Filipino film selected in the 41st Oporto International Film Festival in Portugal.

“I feel super blessed, and I am so thankful to Bentria Productions, producer Engr. Benjie Austria, our great director Direk Louie Ignacio, creative producer Ferdy Lapuz, our line producer Dennis Evangelista, all the cast, and the whole team,” Jeric said.

Broken Blooms is a drama movie also directed by Ignacio, but Jeric teases that viewers can expect more from him.

“May mga scenes na dapat n’yong abangan kasi first time ko lang ginawa sa pelikula. Hindi n’yo pa ‘to nakikita before and sana panooring n’yo para makita n’yo,” the Kapuso star shared.

When it comes to working with Ignacio, Jeric has nothing but praise for the award-winning director, saying that Ignacio inspires those around him to maintain a good work ethic while bringing out the best in them.

“I have been dreaming of this for a very long time, to have a film that will be in a prestigious international film festival, and I hope that the talents of the Filipinos in the film industry will be recognized more in the international scene,” the Kapuso leading man said.
