Realty practitioners welcome more time to comply with AMLC rules

Real estate service practitioners affiliated with the National Real Estate Association welcomed the extension by which real estate developers and brokers can comply with the anti-money laundering rules.

NREA national president Ronie Biando, in a statement, expressed appreciation to the recent extension given by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) of up to June 21, 2022 for real estate developers and brokers to submit their respective anti-money laundering and anti-terroristic financing plans.

Anent the extension of AMLC rules, NREA will conduct a business forum online with lawyer Ronel U. Buenaventura, the acting deputy director of AMLC to provide more details of said rules. The business meeting and industry forum online will be on March 16, 2022, 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

NREA chairman Ricky M. Celis, said past national president of the United Architects of the Philippines, Architect Maria Benita O. Regala will discuss the topic “Price Subsidy and Land Use and Density Issues”.

He also welcomed the further lowering of the health pandemic level, which will now allow a 100-percent capacity in construction sites, among other measures meant to open the economy, saying that this would further perk up greater housing production and market activities.
