Two hundred fifty indigent residents of Ilocos Norte received financial assistance from the Ang Probinsyano Party-List last week.

In coordination with the local government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program, the beneficiaries were handed the P2,000-cash aid in a ceremony at the Ilocos Norte National High School gymnasium.

According to Lilian Rin, provincial social welfare officer, the recipients were from Laoag City and the towns of Bacarra, Bangui, Burgos, Dumalneg, Pasuquin, Piddig and Sarrat.

The provincial government expressed gratitude for the blessing given to their constituents.

Beneficiaries Jean Laurice Juan, a grade 12 student; Sanny Boy Gapuz, currently unemployed; and Aida Castillo, a senior citizen, also thanked the Ang Probinsyano Party-List for addressing their concerns.

Ang Probinsyano Party-List Rep. Alfred Delos Santos vowed to continue coordinating with local government agencies to ease the plight of those in need, especially those who have been greatly affected by the pandemic.

“We have seen the effects of the COVID-19 crisis to our kababayans particularly those in the provinces. We will continue to join forces with the different government agencies and harmonize our efforts to ensure that our fellow probinsyanos get their basic necessities,” Delos Santos said.

Last week, 166 residents of Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur also received financial assistance from the Ang Probinsyano Party-List.

Since 2019 when it was voted as among the country’s top party-list groups, the Ang Probinsyano Party-List has distributed financial assistance to over 33, 000 beneficiaries, on top of other types of support accorded to the needy.

The party-list’s core advocacies are food, health, livelihood and education for all Filipinos.
