Retail investors are more bullish on the stock market over the next six months despite concerns on the upcoming elections and the surge in COVID-19 cases, according to a client survey conducted by online brokerage COL Financial Group Inc.
COL Financial Management Inc. president Marvin Fausto said in a press briefing that investor sentiment was shifting to more bullish, as 65 percent of investors expected the Philippine Stock Exchange index to go up over the next six months.
This is a significant improvement from 28 percent when COL Financial made a similar survey in the second half of 2021.
About 82 percent of the investors said they were planning to increase their exposure in the stock market over the next three to six months, while only 18 percent said they would decrease their exposure.
“People believe that the market will be better in the next six months and majority will increase their investments,” Fausto said.
