The number coding scheme by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be suspended during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The MMDA said there will be no number coding on December 25 (Christmas Day) and January 1 (New Year’s Day). Provincial buses, private, and public utility vehicles are all exempted, the MMDA in an advisory said.

The MMDA said for December 24, Friday (Christmas Eve) December 30, Thursday (Rizal Day), and December 31, Friday (New Year’s Eve) the number coding will also be suspended from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Metro Manila buses, private vehicles, and PUVs are included in this exemption.

The MMDA said this means vehicles, public or private, with license plate numbers ending in 7 and 8 and covered by the number coding scheme every Thursday; and license plates ending in 9 and 0 covered by the number coding every Friday are allowed to use man roads in Metro Manila all day.
