Basketball star Marc Pingris ran around their neighborhood wearing just a black bra and a pair of shorts, attracting curious onlookers as shown in his social media video post.
For Pingris, a long-time enthusiast of esports, it was a promise fulfilled for any Philippine team that would win in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M3 World Championship, which is so far one of the premier and richest e-sports tournaments in the world.
“Kapag nanalo Pilipinas sa M3, tatakbo ako ng naka-bra sa village namin. Rooting po para sa Pilipinas sa. ‘Pag nanalo po ang Pilipinas, gagawin ko po ‘yan para sa entry natin, Pilipinas lang ang malakas,” said the former Magnolia stalwart in his video post on his Facebook page two weeks ago.
A day after a team from the Philippines, Blacklist International, captured the M3 crown, Pingris did so as promised.
Wearing a black bra, which he claimed belongs to their household helper, and shorts, Pingris ran around his village while holding a camera to document his act.
“Blacklist International, congrats sa inyo, katulad ng promise ko, tumakbo ako ng naka-bra sa village namin kahit nakakahiya, shoutout sa misis ko. Sorry baby pero kailangan kong gawin ito,” said the husband of former actress Danica Sotto, daughter of Vic Sotto and Dina Bonavie.
In his video caption, Pingris congratulated Blacklist International and assured a promise was being fulfilled.
“Dahil nanalo kayo at nag-promise ako, ito na tinupad ko na. Tumakbo ako sa village namin kanina na kakaiba ang suot. Katuwaan lang ‘to guys. Proud lang talaga tayo sa naabot ng team nila,” he said.
Pingris even joked that he wanted to wear his wife’s bra but she wouldn’t allow him.
“Bagong bra ‘yan ni manang! ‘Di pa nasuot. Ayaw ako pahiramin ni Danica Sotto-Pingris, kung ano-ano raw trip ko hehehe,” Pingris said in a reply to a fan’s comment.
His video post has so far elicited 3.1 million views, 281K reactions and 6.2K comments.
Blacklist recently topped the M3 World Championship with a sweep against a fellow team from the Philippines, ONIC PH.
It was a deep struggle from Blacklist which had to dig deep from the lower bracket to set a final duel with ONIC that was coming from a spectacular nine-game win streak in the upper bracket.
The win made Blacklist International $800,000 richer, while ONIC took home US$120,000.
Blacklist rode on the heroics of Kiel “OHEB” Soriano, who was named the tournament’s MVP and was given a $10,000 prize.
Blacklist International is co-owned by famous vlogger and cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao.
