The support of a big crowd that came to cheer for them moved members of the Philippine Volcanoes when they dominated the men’s division, while the Lady Volcanoes settled for second in the women’s class in the rugby 7s competition of the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Philippine Rugby Football Union General Manager Jake Letts said this some two weeks after competitions ended at the Clark Field Parade Grounds.

“The crowd left the stands and joined the athletes in the field in celebrating, and then they congratulated the Malaysians and the Thais as well. The spirit of the Games was unbelievable,” said Letts.

Letts said this as he shared his experience during the Champions Summit at the Conrad Hotel in Pasay City.

The summit saw athletes and officials sharing stories of inspiration, triumph, and rising to the occasion of hosting this year’s Games.
