CAAP opens int’l flights in Bohol

International airlines have started operating flight services in Bohol-Panglao International Airport.

The most recent, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, was South Korean low-cost carrier Jeju Air.

BPIA and CAAP officials welcomed Jeju Air’s inaugural flight from Incheon, South Korea on Nov. 21, carrying 187 passengers and one infant, and manned by two cockpit crew and four cabin attendants.

CAAP chief information officer and spokesperson Eric Apolonio said the inaugural flight of Jeju’s 7C-4407 was welcomed by water cannon salute courtesy of BPIA Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting team.

Apolonio added a ribbon cutting ceremony was also held on the same day at the Gate 3 of the airport terminal graced by Jeju Air representatives Kyoung Pyo Ko and Hyun Jun Lim.

Transnational Aviation Support Services, Inc. Duty Officer Val Cuaresma, CAAP-BPIA Supervisor Frank Tayag and Assistant Supervisor Mary Luzelle Piquero also attended the event.
