24-hour PNP hotline for SEA Games

The National Capital Region Police Office on Saturday launched a 24-hour police hotline for the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

NCRPO chief Debold Sinas led the launching ceremony during the Final Coordinating Meeting of Task Force NCR at the Conference Room in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

The NCRPO SEA Games SMS and Viber hotline numbers are 0915-983-4636 for Globe subscribers and 0998-325-5626 for Smart subscribers.

“However, eyeing the sustainability mechanism of the hotline, only SMS and Viber messages will be accounted on the hotlines and strictly no calls at all,” said Sinas in a statement.

He assured the public of prompt response to queries, reports, and complaints regarding SEA Games made through its official hotline.

The hotlines, according to Sinas, will be monitored 24/7 by trained and competent policemen assigned in the Operations Division at the NCRPO headquarters.

Information relayed to the hotlines will be referred to the concerned Task Group Commanders or units for immediate action.

“We are prepared to make this anticipated biennial regional multi-sport event smooth and peaceful,” said Sinas.

More than 15,000 policemen will be deployed to provide security for the sports events that will be held in Metro Manila.

The Philippines will host for the fourth time the SEA Games from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11 this year.

The country won its first-ever SEA Games overall championship in 2005, the last time it hosted the biennial meet. The Philippines also hosted the 1981 and 1991 editions.
