Caloocan City residents may now enjoy a free connection to the Internet, as the city government has opened to the public free Wi-Fi kiosks at the new city hall complex.
The opening of the Wi-Fi kiosks, located at the People’s Park, was led by Councilor Enteng Malapitan, City Administrator Engineer Oliver Hernandez, and InfiniVan president Enrique Yu.
Every resident is allotted two hours of free Internet connection from InfiniVan, the internet provider, daily.
Free Wi-Fi is not new in Caloocan. Students from the University of Caloocan City have already enjoyed it for over a year now and consider it a big help for their studies.
“We thank InfiniVan as our partner in this project. Our citizens will truly find this useful as we continue to use new technologies,” Mayor Oscar Malapitan said in a statement.
Malapitan said he wants the project to be also available in North Caloocan and other areas of the city in the coming years.
