Team Lakay’s Pacio enjoys new partnership with Fairtex

After the opening of their modern training facility last month, the squad at Team Lakay announced its partnership with Thailand-based gym and equipment provider Fairtex.

Recently, ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua "The Passion" Pacio got to experience that partnership. He spent two days in the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya to further hone his skills and to check out some fresh gear.

“This is great news for us. It’s a huge boost because that means we’ll have better equipment for our preparation moving forward,” Pacio said.

“We spent two days there, and we were welcomed by no less than Prem Fairtex, who was really hospitable. It’s such a beautiful country with such nice people.”

The Fairtex Training Center is home to two-sport World Champion Stamp Fairtex, and “The Passion” made sure to pick up valuable things in his short stint at the Pattaya training camp.

“We got to train in the Fairtex Training Center, and we got to learn more things that we can add to our arsenal,” Pacio said.

“In our two days there, we were able to spar and roll with different top athletes from different styles. We were certainly tested there and at the same time we took home lessons.”

From their humble beginnings, good things continue to flow to the top for Team Lakay, and the ONE Strawweight World Champion cannot help but be thankful for the recent developments.

This only adds more fuel to the prodigious Baguio City native as he promises not to waste the opportunities that come his way.

“These things get [us] even more motivated and give us strength to raise the bar of mixed martial arts in our country.”

Four of Pacio’s teammates will compete at ONE: CENTURY, the biggest World Championship martial arts event in history. No organization has ever promoted two full-scale World Championship events in one day, with 28 World Champions competing in multiple World Title bouts.

PART I airs live on Cignal TV at 11:00am Philippine Standard Time (PHT) on Sunday, 13 October. TV5 will cut-in to live broadcast 10:30 am.

PART II, on the other hand, airs on ABS-CBN S+A or Cignal TV at 6:30pm Philippine Standard Time (PHT). TV5 will show the special delay live at 9:30pm PHT.
