Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. said over the weekend vehicle sales rose 19 percent to 2,539 units in August from 2,136 units in July.

“Our sustained performance amid external challenges is a result of our never-ending effort to provide excellent after-sales services and premium products for Filipino motorists. Challenges come and go but we go the extra for our customers who will never forget their positive experience with the Hyundai brand,” said HARI president and chief executive officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo.

Sales hit 22,329 units in the first eight months of the year, down 0.8 percent from last year’s 22,511 vehicles.

HARI still remains one of the top-selling automotive brands with strong sales coming from the Reina, Accent, Kona, and H-100.

Sales of Hyundai’s LCV segment increased 19 percent in the eight-month period to 9,864 from 8,288 units on year. The subcompact SUV Hyundai Kona led the growth with a 231-percent increase.
