State weather bureau PAGASA said on Friday that ‘Marilyn’ is expected to leave PAR on Sunday.

PAGASA also said that ‘Marilyn’ retained its strength but is unlikely to make landfall since it remains over the ocean.

As of 10 a.m. the storm's center was located 1,045 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

Marilyn is moving northwest at 10 kilometers per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph.

Weather Specialist Loriedin de La Cruz said no storm signal was raised.

She urged the public to continue monitoring PAGASA for updates.
