This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

Peanut is such a small Chihuahua that his owner, Gina Pacheco Evangelista, decided to name him after the small nut.

“Everything was unplanned, I never thought of having a Chihuahua because I am not a Chihuahua enthusiast. But when my friend showed me her videos and photos, I fell in love with Peanut instantly, “ Gina says.

“Unfortunately, she was going to a different family. Days passed, and I can not stop thinking about him. I told myself I’ve gotta have her, “ Gina shares.

She adds, “Maybe we are meant to be together. I finally got her. Now that I have her, she is going to spend the rest of her life with US. Peanut is turning one in November.”

Alaska, one-year-old rescued baby girl of Mike Tan, was found beside a can of Alaska milk.

“Which is obviously the reason why I named her such. She loves playing with cans. Chasing empty cans is her past time, “ Mike says.

“Alaska loves to cuddle and swipes her body around my legs as a sign that she wants to be carried. She is very sweet and doesn't mind bathing time and just sleeps it off, “ Mike shares.

“Her fave is fish though I grab her cat food as alternate. She sleeps beside me and makes sure that I give her tummy rubs all the time, “ Mike says.

To Alaska, Mike  promises, ”I love you and I  will take care of you forever, Alaska!”
