MVP tweet on 5G sparks online buzz

Businessman Manny Pangilinan created a stir on Twitter Tuesday night when he promoted a Huawei device using his iPhone.

“Got my 5G phone. Huawei. Using it now, on Smart 5G network in central parts of Makati. Wow. Super speed. Exciting.” Pangilinan said in his tweet.

Eagle-eyed Twitter users quickly pointed out, though, that the PLDT chairman post on the micro-blogging site was marked sent via “Twitter for iPhone.”

In a Twitter post Wednesday, Pangilinan posted a photo showing he was using two devices, indicating one was Huawei and the other was his iPhone.

PLDT has partnered with Huawei in rolling out 5G internet connection in the country.
