Nissan Philippines Inc. expects sales to match the expected industry-wide sales growth of 10 percent in 2019, after posting a 40-percent increase in 2018.

Nissan Philippines sold 34,952 vehicles last year, becoming the third largest automotive seller and manufacturer in the country.

“But we’re really hoping to grow faster than the industry. In the last two years, we’ve averaged 58 percent when industry growth was only 20 percent. Last year, our growth was 40 percent compared to industry’s -16 percent. We’ve managed to grow almost thrice that of the automotive sector,” Nissan Philippines president and managing director Ramesh Narasimhan said in a briefing Wednesday night.

He said Nissan would be able to sustain sales and post incremental growths by following the so-called four pillars of products, service, customer experience and people.

He said Nissan would continue to rely on the strength of core models Almerra, Navarra, Terra and Urvan.
