SM Foundation turned over in December the newly renovated neuro-developmental clinic of East Avenue Medical Center’s pediatrics section.
The newly renovated EAMC pedia ward in the outpatient department, now called as neuro-developmental clinic, will be headed by Dr. Carina Cruz-Quimbo of the Neonatal ICU.
The NDC is a sub-specialty of the department of pediatrics where the development of children are monitored to see if their mental development is in accordance with their age. “Upon discharge, we determine if we have mentally-delayed children, autistic, or are ADHD-inflicted,” said Dr. Quimbo.
EAMC’s neuro-developmental center will cater to patients’ needs for free. The center also has occupational, physical, and speech therapy clinics
This is the second project of SM Foundation in the pediatric unit of EAMC. In 2002, the neonatal ICU of the hospital was renovated and refurbished. The foundation continues to maintain the NICU as part of its commitment to the hospital.
