Kathryn Bernardo embraces independence in new film projectAfter giving an exceptional performance in The Hows of Us, which is currently the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, Kathryn Bernardo continues to step up by venturing into new and more mature phase of her career as a certified drama actress.

The young Box Office Queen is flying solo on her concluding project for her fruitful 2018. This time, she is teaming up with well-regarded actors Richard Gomez and Sharon Cuneta in the latest family drama opus Three Words to Forever, helmed by blockbuster director Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Kathryn Bernardo steps out of her comfort zone in the latest family drama, ‘Three Words to Forever.’

After breathing life to George in the globally successful romance film The Hows of Us, Kathryn now plays the role of Tin, the youngest among the Andrada family who is very much eager to start the chapter of her life with the love of her life. What Tin didn’t know is that her “ideal couples” are already falling apart and her idea of forever is nothing but a dream.

“Ang hirap kasi sobra akong na-attach ako kay George kaya ang hirap kumawala sakanya. Kinailangan kong ibahin ang pagsasalita at iyak ko kaya si Direk Cathy, yun ang palagi naming binabantayan na kailangan yung mannerisms kailangan walang bahid ni George at yun ang pinakamahirap,” Kathryn shared.

While she initially had to adjust to working without her perennial leading man Daniel Padilla, Kathryn embraced the independence that this project has allowed her to enjoy.

“Mahirap kung wala si DJ pero kailangan kong gawin at kinaya ko naman. Kasi I realized hindi lahat ng gagawin mo dapat nasa comfort zone ka, sometimes you have to get out of it,” she said nothing that this film has gratefully allowed her to become very independent.

But more than the experience, Kathryn also appreciates the lessons that making the film has shown her off cam, especially from her seasoned co-stars.

“Of course it was different at first pero makikita mo kung bakit sila naging ganon kalalaking stars. So it’s really different when you witness it first hand. Kung paano si Tito Richard sa mga tao, kung paano si Tita Sharon sa mga co-actors niya na tini-treat niya as family talaga. Happy ako na na-witness ko lahat yun and totoo nga ang sabi nilang lahat kapag nakatrabaho mo sila,” she said.

All of Kathryn’s adjustments and willingness to explore a new facet in her career eventually paid off as she received praises for her exemplary performance of her character.

Netizens noted how she was able to successfully build up Tin’s frustration and then allow it to explode during the necessary moment. Meanwhile, the others underscored how Kathryn was once again “at her best” all thanks to her sincere and affecting performance.

But the biggest commendation that she received highlighted the fact that she managed to stay at par with Sharon and Richard during their powerful and tear-jerking confrontation scene, which earned a rousing applause from all the moviegoers inside the cinema.

In the end, Kathryn is positive that people would love and learn from Tin as much as she did, especially on the aspect of family, forgiveness, and understanding this holiday season.

Three Words to Forever is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
