President Rodrigo Duterte said Tuesday he would support former Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson’s bid in the 2019 midterm polls.
“I will support you,” the President said as he dismissed reports that he terminated Uson from holding office under the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
“I never fired Mocha. She was the one who resigned. All these years, she was under heavy criticism, I supported her. That’s freedom of expression,” Duterte told Uson as she asked the President to prove reports concerning her resignation wrong.
He said Uson supported his administration “all the way” through the use of freedom of expression.
The controversial blogger told Duterte of her plans to “continue the fight” to a new platform as she seeks an elective post in the upcoming elections.
