Calvin Abueva’s days in Alaska are over.

Calvin Abueva, formerly of Alaska, will be joining the Phoenix Fuelmasters.

After suspending the star forward indefinitely, the Aces completely got rid of him after finally trading him away to Phoenix yesterday.

Alaska sent the controversial swingman to the Fuel Masters in exchange for a 2019 first-round draft pick.

In addition, the Aces will also receive Karl Dehesa in the completed deal.

Following the All-Star weekend last May, Abueva suddenly went missing in action without any contact for more than a week.

This triggered Alaska to suspend him indefinitely. Now, he will not be returning to the Aces after all.

Instead, he will report to just his second team in his six-year career as he heads to the Fuel Masters.

The trade wasn’t considered a big surprise as the Alaska management has reportedly lost faith in Abueva after another round of disappointing actions.

Still, the Aces took time to thank Abueva, who was the face of the franchise for a long time, for all his contributions to the organization.

“We would like to thank Calvin (Abueva) for his six years of service with Alaska and the good memories. We felt as a franchise that it was best for both Alaska and Calvin to have a fresh start at this moment,” said Alaska in a statement.

Abueva’s entry suddenly made Phoenix an intriguing team, moving forward.

His versatility and productive play are certainly what the Fuel Masters need to have a better chance at competing against perennial contenders.
