In show business, there are people who are just a little too talented. They are the ones who can merge their life and work into an interconnected space of ever-evolving creative exploration. Thus, it’s no surprise that a multihyphenate actress like Heart Evangelista is now ready to work on TV again.
After a brief hiatus following her heartbreaking miscarriage in June, Heart is finally returning to work as she renewed her exclusive contract with GMA Network, Inc. on Tuesday, July 31.
The Kapuso star, who also celebrated six years of being together with husband Sen. Chiz Escudero, took to Instagram to express her gratitude.
“A huge thank you to the people who have been with me since day 1. This year I celebrated my 20th year in show business. Today, we signed on for more exciting times with the network I call home. I can’t wait to see what’s next for us,” she wrote on her social media account.
Also known as local art scene’s poster girl for staging successful solo exhibits featuring hand painted luxury bags, Heart said in an interview that she’s both glad and excited to renew her ties with the network that has been very supportive of her numerous endeavors.
“I’m very content with my life. I’m very happy where I am. I’m very excited for what I have and what I will be doing with GMA,” she enthused.
The actress, whose last project with the network was the first-ever Filipino-Korean romantic comedy series My Korean Jagiya together with Kapuso oppa Alexander Lee, also expressed her gratitude for the trust and support that GMA Network has given her all these years.
“I’m very happy to be a Kapuso. Actually, even if I don’t have a contract, I think I’ll still be a Kapuso. GMA has always been very understanding and they’re not selfish with schedules. When there’s a change of plans, that’s when we discuss but now, I want to work.”
At the contract signing, she was warmly welcomed by the network’s bigwigs including GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA President and Chief Operating Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., GMA Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, and Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara.
Gozon expressed his gladness on Heart being loyal with GMA and has nothing but praises for the actress.
“Heart is a very talented movie and TV actress. We are fortunate and gratified that she renewed her exclusive contract with us because she is really a very valuable asset for any showbiz organization.”
Duavit, on the other hand, said he is delighted that Heart continues to stay with the network, “We’re glad that she remains Kapuso. We are thankful that she entrusts her career to GMA. From the time she joined us, she’s always shown loyalty. Nandu'n 'yung kusa at pagkakaisa na ehemplo sa ating lahat.”
