The young guns ruled the Beach Volleyball Republic King And Queen Of The Sands tournament Sunday.
Babylove Barbon and Jaron Requinton of University of Santo Tomas bested Klymince Orillaneda and James Buytrago of National University in a championship showdown of budding beach volleyball talents to rule the two-day tournament at the Sands SM By The Bay.
Undefeated in seven matches, the tandem of Barbon and Requinton were impressive in the sand court despite the heavy rain and wind.
Another youthful UST tandem, Genesa Jane Eslapor and Efraem Dimaculangan, won third place over Far Eastern University’s Kyla Atienza and Joshua Barrica.
A total of 13 pairs competed in the two-day event, where everyone got to play at least 12 sets in the single-round eliminations.
BVR will resume its provincial tour next month.
