‘Florita‘ exits PAR, ‘Gardo‘ threatens

A low-pressure area is brewing to become another tropical depression after the exit of severe tropical storm “Florita.”

Ariel Roxas, a forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said the LPA was estimated at 2,275 kilometers of Mindanao.

“It is still too far from the border of our Philippine Area of Responsibility. It is still at the Pacific Ocean,” he told the Manila Standard.

The LPA is likely to develop into another tropical depression over the weekend, he said, adding that it would not likely make landfall.

Once the LPA becomes a tropical depression, it would be named “Gardo,” Roxas said.
