The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday expressed grave concern over the conduct of a revisor working for former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. inside the revision area on June 14.

In its third manifestation of grave concern, Robredo’s legal counsel—Maria Bernadette Sardillo and Romulo Macalintal—called the attention of the Supreme Court sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal the action of revisor Nestor Borromeo.

Sardillo claimed Borromeo was able to bring inside a magnifying plastic lens despite the policy that only papers could be brought inside the revision area.

“To further compound matters, Mr. Borromeo was caught not only in possession of said magnifying glass but was using the same during the ongoing revision, recount and re-appreciation of ballots,” she said.

According to Sardillo, when confronted, Borromeo said he was instructed to stray more valid ballots for Robredo even after the head revisor of PET had already segregated the ballots.

Such was the second time that a person belonging to the Marcos camp was reported for their “unruly” conduct inside the revision area, she said.

In an April 24 resolution, PET admonished the party supervisor of Marcos as well as lawyer Joan Padilla, and specifically ordered her not to talk to any of the PET head revisors and not to disrupt the revision process in general, Sardillo said in a statement sent to the media.

“An incident report dated April 13, 2018 referred to inappropriate behavior of Padilla in the revision area on April 13, 2018,” Robredo’s camp said.

“Padilla approached every PET head revisors and instructed them not to counter-check the votes acquired by both parties in the election returns,” it added.

Marcos filed an election protest against Robredo, who was proclaimed the winner in the 2016 vice president race.
