CDO, Taguig lead Wilson 3×3 winners

Wilson, a leading international sports gear brand actively involved in the promotion of various local and international sporting events for many years now, successfully concluded its first-ever Wilson 3×3 National Finals held recently at Toby’s Arena in Pasig City, with a Cagayan de Oro team leading the winners.

Champions representing various cities and provinces that participated in the Wilson 3×3 Basketball Challenge leg progressed to play in the recent Wilson 3×3 National Finals which is the tournament culminating activity. The participating champion teams hailed from Taguig City, Laguna, Cagayan De Oro, Roxas City, Ormoc City, Iloilo City, Zamboanga Del Norte, Cebu City and Nueva Ecija.

According to Wilson Senior Brand Head Errol Cajefe Elicanal, the Wilson 3X3 National Finals was the first-ever event of Wilson sanctioned by FIBA 3X3. 

“Because of the event’s overwhelming success, the group is planning to conduct the said basketball activity on a yearly basis to enthuse young players to continue their sporting passion and to optimize the exposure for Wilson as the official ball of FIBA 3X3,” Elicanal said.

Twelve-Under Champion was Zamboanga City (Team Universidad de Zamboanga) composed of team members Arwin Pedroche, James Yuan Ison (Most Valuable Player), Marco Polo Jumao-as and Lebron Nicholas Lim; while 13-Under Champion was Taguig City (Team Staglets) with team members James Matthew Ganotisi, Den Aeros Santos, Paul Lorenzo Lopez and Christensen Costillas.

For the 15-Under Division, hailed champion was Taguig City (Team Ice-Men) composed of Kyle Rivera, Julian Jugo, Jacob Cortez (Most Valuable Player) and Aimeri Ascutia; and lastly, Cagayan De Oro (Team Sacred Heart Gusa) with team members Steven Ray Bernat, Rich Rafael Porcadilla and Jhunry Menaling (Most Valuable Player) rose as 18-Under Champion. 

Present to award the new champions were John Louie Enriquez (Wilson-Brand Coordinator), Errol Cajefe Elicanal (Wilson Senior Brand Head), Liza Labrador (SRI Brand and Marketing Manager), Rodolfo S. Claudio (SRI President and C.E.O) and AC Marquez (Chairman of MBC). Winners received Plaques, Medals and Cash Prizes.
