Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada has distributed “Erap All-Star” shoes to 1,500 elementary students of Bacood Elementary School from Grades 1 to 6 to encourage them to study hard and have a good future during the inaugural distribution held at the Bacood Elementary School in Sta. Mesa.

The city chief executive promised to provide 280,000 students in Manila with shoes as part of the city government’s program to provide “essential entitlements” to the children studying in elementary and high schools.

Estrada vowed to provide dignified schooling to thousands of school children in Manila when he assumed the office almost five years ago, and in fact has already granted 1,000 school children with P5,000 cash each for their school supplies, uniforms, and notebooks.

During the turnover, Mayor Estrada said he wants all students to walk with comfort when going to school and be proud to the shoes that they are wearing “Erap All Star Shoes” which is made of high-quality materials.

“Do you know that I also wear Superstar Shoes? Your shoes are proving you are really your city’s superstars,” the mayor said.

The former President assured that all students in Manila will have shoes that will be distributed this school year.

He also extended his gratitude to Bacood Elementary school principal Helen Bautista for unwaveringly supporting the city government’s educational program.

Estrada called on the students to study hard and keep away from illegal activities, adding they have every role in the society “to improve and bring back not only the city but the nation to its glory and remain as the Pearl of the Orient.”
