Luck apparently is not on the side of Daanbantayan, Cebu Mayor Vicente Loot.
Only a little over two weeks ago, Loot survived an ambush in Barangay Maya in Daanbantayan that injured his driver.
On Thursday, the former general turned mayor almost killed himself in a “freak” gun accident inside his vehicle.
Police Regional Office 7 officials reported that Loot was in his car, along with two others, when the incident happened at 8:40 pm Wednesday.
The police said Loot, whom President Rodrigo Duterte included in his narco-list as a narco-general, was coming from a vigil for his supporter aboard his vehicle when he unknowingly sat on the gun, which accidentally fired and hit him on his left leg.
He was immediately brought to Daanbantayan District Hospital.
