Another action-filled battle on the hard court is in the offing as the PNP Responders face off with the Ombudsman Graft Busters today (Sunday) at 3:30 p.m. in the UNTV Cup Off Season Executive Face-Off at the Pasig City Sports Center)
Both teams displayed their high-octane offense in their respective first games, with the PNP Responders routing reigning champion AFP Cavaliers, 90-62, and the Graft Busters clipping Malacañang-PSC Kamao, 76-57.
The Graft Busters vowed to step up their offense even more with the high endurance levels of play by their police generals and colonels, headed by PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde himself.
“I just tell the guys to continue to improve, especially ‘yung stamina namin kasi nga next game namin, PNP. Sa nakita ko, sila ang pinakamalakas talaga. So every game, maasahan niyo kami na if there’s the opportunity, takbo lang kami ng takbo,” said Graft Busters’ coach Ricky Alcatara.
The PNP Responders’ main man Albayalde said: “Kami ay nag-practice, pinaghandaan namin ito. Hopefully, manalo kami this year. But then again of course, winning the game is only second to the love of game itself. Ang importante dito ay makapaglaro tayo ng mabuti and everyone will enjoy the game.”
